The CounseLaur Services

Lauren A. Tetenbaum, LCSW, JD, PMH-C

Clinical Therapy

Lauren utilizes an integrative approach to psychotherapy for individuals and couples based in New York and Connecticut. She specializes in anxiety issues and parental wellness. Using cognitive behavioral techniques within a feminist framework (noting the particular challenges that women encounter due to societal expectations), she helps clients reflect, grow, and make healthy relationship and professional choices. Through therapy, Lauren helps clients mindfully examine how their values, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected, develop coping strategies to improve their mental health, and engage in self-compassion.

Lauren is licensed as a social worker in New York (LCSW #097477) and Connecticut (LCSW #13937). She is not in-network with any insurance panels but can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement if applicable. Psychotherapy services typically range from $225-$300 per session; sliding scale rates are available on a limited and as-needed basis.

Coaching & Consulting

Lauren coaches individuals, groups, and corporate clients on parenting and perinatal topics. She facilitates psychoeducational support groups for parents (new, working, aspiring, second-time, and other), coaching them on matters including overall well-being, work flexibility, gender equity, and building connections to reduce loneliness. She also provides resume review and career coaching to women seeking to re-enter the paid workforce or transition their careers. Additionally, Lauren is available as a consultant to provide thoughtful, tailored advice to organizations related to retaining talent, supporting parents, encouraging diversity and inclusion, and enhancing mentorship and morale.

As a certified facilitator in the Fair Play method developed by activist Eve Rodsky, Lauren works with corporate and individual clients to create gender equity and alleviate the maternal mental load. She partners with Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine media company to train executives and other mental health professionals in the method. Lauren facilitates Mastermind groups for NYC-area lawyer moms in addition to collaborating with many employee benefit programs through which she helps employers foster a supportive corporate culture via wellness coaching to working parents, creates a community for caregivers in which she provides resources and support to help them navigate home, work, and beyond, and supports women with the transition to working motherhood.

Lauren is available for speaking engagements and other collaborations. She has led workshops and trainings for law firms and other companies and nonprofits, including PepsiCo, Scotiabank, Optum/UnitedHealth Group, Spotify, Chipper, Morrison Foerster, Clifford Chance, Manolo Blahnik, Renaissance, Vayner Media, the Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health (formerly 2020 Mom), and MoMMA’s Voices of the Preeclampsia Foundation.
